योगेश्वरो ऽसौ भगवान् महादेवो महान् प्रभुः
That Lord is the master of yoga, the great god, the mighty sovereign.
प्रोच्यते भगवान् ब्रह्मा महान् ब्रह्ममयो ऽमलः
The Blessed Lord Brahmā is proclaimed as great, composed of Brahman, and pure.
सो ऽविकल्पेन योगेन युज्यते नात्र संशयः
He is united through unwavering yoga—of this there is no doubt.
नृत्यामि योगी सततं यस्तद् वेद स वेदवित्
The yogi who always abides in me—he who knows this is truly a knower.
प्रसन्नचेतसे देयं धार्मिकायाहिताग्नये
With a serene mind, one should give to a righteous person who maintains the sacred fire.
ननर्त परमं भावमैश्वरं संप्रदर्शयन्
He danced, revealing the supreme divine state.
नृत्यमानं महादेवं विष्णुना गगने ऽमले
Mahadeva was seen dancing in the spotless sky by Vishnu.
तमीशं सर्वभूतानामाकशे ददृशुः किल
Indeed, they saw that Lord of all beings in the sky.
नृत्यमानः स्वयं विप्रैर्विश्वेशः खलु दृश्यते
The Lord of the universe is truly seen dancing by the sages.
जहति नृत्यमानं तं भूतेशं ददृशुः किल
They saw that Lord of beings, ceasing his dance.
ज्योतिर्मयं प्रपश्यन्ति स योगी दृश्यते किल
They perceive him as radiant light; that yogi is indeed seen.
तमेव मोचकं रुद्रमाकाशे ददृशुः परम्
They saw that supreme Rudra, the liberator, in the sky.
सहस्रबाहुं जटिलं चन्द्रार्धकृतशेखरम्
With a thousand arms, matted hair, and crowned with the crescent moon.
दण्डपाणिं त्रयीनेत्रं सूर्यसोमाग्निलोचनम्
Holding a staff, with three eyes, whose eyes are the sun, moon, and fire.
दंष्ट्राकरालं दुर्धर्षं सूर्यकोटिसमप्रभम्
Fierce with fangs, formidable, shining like ten million suns.
नृत्यन्तं ददृशुर्देवं विश्वकर्माणमीश्वरम्
They saw the god, the universal creator, dancing.
पशूनां पतिमीशानं ज्योतिषां ज्योतिरव्ययम्
The lord of creatures, the ruler, the imperishable light of lights.
कालात्मानं कालकालं देवदेवं महेश्वरम्
The embodiment of time, the destroyer of time, the god of gods, the great lord.
ज्ञानवैराग्यनिलयं ज्ञानयोगं सनातनम्
The abode of knowledge and renunciation, the eternal yoga of knowledge.
महेन्द्रोपेन्द्रनमितं महर्षिगणवन्दितम्
Honored by Indra and Upendra, and revered by the hosts of great sages.
योगिनां हृदि तिष्ठन्तं योगमायासमावृतम्
Residing in the hearts of yogis, enveloped in yogic illusion.
ईश्वरेणैकतापन्नमपश्यन् ब्रह्मवादिनः
The knowers of Brahman saw him united with the Lord.
कृतार्थं मेनिरे सन्तः स्वात्मानं ब्रह्मवादिनः
The wise, devoted to the knowledge of Brahman, considered themselves fulfilled.
महर्षिरत्रिः कपिलो मरीचिः
The great sages Atri, Kapila, and Marīci,
बद्ध्वाञ्जलिं स्वेषु शिरःसु भूयः
With hands joined and heads bowed to their own people again,
आनन्दपूर्णायतमानसास्ते
Their minds filled with complete bliss,
प्रचेतसं ब्रह्ममयं पवित्रम्
They praised Pracetas, who is pure and composed of Brahman,
कविं परेभ्यः परमं तत्परं च
The sage, supreme among all, transcendent and beyond the highest,
स्त्वामेव सर्वं प्रवदन्ति सन्तः
The wise declare that you alone are everything,
यथाविधानं सकलं ससर्ज
He created all things according to the proper order,
