Like an elephant, grant us strength; like earth, unite the realms for us; these songs, O Aśvins, inspired by you, sharpen like a whetstone the axe.
These, O Aśvins, are your increasing deeds; the Gṛtsamadas have made the hymn and praise; come, O men, delighting in them, let us speak forth greatly in the assembly, strong in men.
Soma and Pūṣan are the originators of wealth, the originators of heaven, the originators of earth; born as guardians of all the worlds, the gods made them the navel of immortality.
These two gods, being born, delight; these two, unwelcomed, conceal the darkness. With Soma and Pūṣan, Indra brings forth the ripe ones among the cows.
Soma and Pūṣan drive the seven-wheeled chariot, the vehicle of all realms, traversing the spaces, yoked by mind; you invigorate it, O mighty ones, with five rays.
One made his dwelling in the sky, high above; the other on earth, and another in the midspace. May you grant us abundant, manifold wealth and nourishment, and establish the navel for us.
One generated all the worlds; the other moves, beholding all. Soma and Pūṣan, support my insight; with you two, may we conquer all battles.
Let Pūṣan invigorate my insight, the source of all riches; let Soma, lord of wealth, bestow prosperity. May goddess Aditi protect us, unharmed; may we speak greatly in the assembly, as heroes.
O Vāyu, those thousand-horsed chariots of yours—come with them, accompanied by your attendants, to drink the Soma.
Come with your attendants, O Vāyu; I bring this bright offering to you. You will come to the house of the one who presses Soma.
Today, for the bright Soma, O Indra and Vāyu, accompanied by your attendants, come, O heroes, and drink.
This Soma, pressed for you, O Mitra and Varuṇa, upholders of order, is here; listen to my invocation.
The two kings, without malice, are seated in the highest, steadfast abode, supported by a thousand pillars.
Those sovereigns, pressed with clarified butter, the Ādityas, lords of gifts, dwell together in the unshaken place.
May the two Nāsatyas, Ashvins, bring us wealth with cows and horses; may the Rudras grant us noble paths.
No one, neither distant nor near, can overpower the mighty, generous ones; neither the evil-minded mortal nor the enemy.
May you, Ashvins, bring us wealth, radiant and beautiful; O lords of the chariot, grant us wide space.
Indra, indeed, has removed great fear; he has driven it away. For he is firm and wise among men.
Indra shows us mercy; let harm pass us by, let it vanish behind. May good fortune be before us.
Indra, from all directions, grants us freedom from fear; he is the conqueror of enemies, wise among men.
All the gods, come here and listen to this invocation; sit upon this sacred grass.
This strong, honey-sweet offering is prepared for you in the rites of Śunahotra; drink this desirable libation.
Gods led by Indra and the Maruts, with Pūṣan as benefactor, all of you, listen to my invocation.
Most motherly, most riverly, most divine Sarasvati, we seem unpraised; O mother, grant us praise.
In you, Sarasvati, all life spans are placed, O goddess; delight in the rites of Śunahotra and grant us offspring, O goddess.
Accept these prayers, Sarasvati, at the horse-rich sacrifice; those offerings which the Gṛtsamadas, devoted to truth, lovingly present among the gods.
We choose you, youthful and gracious for the sacrifice; and Agni, the bearer of offerings.
May Heaven and Earth today swiftly grant this sacrifice, touching the sky, to the gods.
Let the worshipful gods sit here upon your altar, O Druhā, for the drinking of Soma today.
The shrill-voiced one, proclaiming its birth, raises its speech like a boat on the water; O bird of good omen, may you be auspicious, may no one among all beings overcome you.
